One of Hull's longest established Indian restaurants, based in Anlaby Road, Tandoor Mahal is a family - owned Indian restaurant, open since 1977.
With recipes that have been passed down through the generations of family from India and Bangladesh, Tandoor Mahal offers diners exquisite dishes.
And as you step inside, you will be met with a warm welcome by one of our friendly members of staff.
High - quality authentic food
Our menu is varied, with high - quality dishes offered at reasonable prices. Starters include shami kebab (�2.75) and aloo bhajee (�2.75), as well as various soups.
For a main, diners can treat themselves to tandoori, biriani, masalla, jalfraizi or rogan dishes - and these are just some of the choices included on the menu.
Why not choose the jaipuri? Priced at �7.95, this dish is chicken or lamb tikka cooked with chilli pickle to create a very rich, hot flavour.

The restaurant also has a wide choice of balti dishes, a Tandoor Mahal speciality. Choices include balti madras, balti vindaloo or balti bhuna.
Side dishes such as bhajees, naans and chutneys are also available to accompany your meal. And from Sunday to Thursday customers can enjoy a four - course meal at Tandoor Mahal for just �9.95.

My son had saved to take his girlfriend out for a Birthday treat. They are both 17 and in their first relationship. They were asked their age when they arrived, which considering they had no intention of buying alcohol made them feel uncomfortable and embarrassed , (would have thought they would only have asked if they asked to buy alcohol) you dont have to be 18 to eat!! then the waiter kept calling my sons girlfriend Darling throughout the meal, which again made my son feel uncomfortable and quite frankly was very unprofessional and condescending. So not a great experience and think they will go somewhere else next time.

Have visited the newly opened family restaurant as well as this one. Was pleased with the service and the food looked amazing, planning to visit again some time soon!

Had the most loveliest meal in such a long time! The food was delicious and certainly looked gorgeous. The welcome was the most cheerful Ive ever had and the service throughout the meal was very warming :) Very reasonable price... LOVED IT!
A fantastic place to eat
I have been to this restaurant on several occasions, for both birthdays and when out with friends and have always had a great experience. We have always been seated immediately and given a high standard of quality customer service. The staff are polite and welcoming, the service is quick, the atmosphere has a very relaxed feel and the food is delicious. I would definitely return here. If you are after an Indian meal then look no further than Tandoor Mahal as it is without a doubt the best Indian Restaurant in the area.
Great All Round Experience
I recently went for a family meal and I can say we all thoroughly enjoyed. I am Delighted that we have found an Indian restaurant where the whole experience was perfect we were seated straight away and given a warm welcome. All 5 us really enjoyed our meals, between us we had a range of dishes all of which were absolutely fantastic. Relaxed atmosphere, quick friendly service, good quality food served hot. I would no longer use any other Indian restaurant.
Brilliant restaurant!
Been here plenty of times and I cannot fault it from any one of my many trips here. Guaranteed Ill go for family events and birthdays, yet its still nice to go with friends for a nice meal and a drink. Food is all quality, staff are lovely and the atmosphere is just really pleasant. Anyone who is thinking of going, should!
